Make money from reality TV personalities

Internet

Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, X Factor, Strictly Come Dancing and any other reality show holds no interest for me other than the fact they appeal to internet surfer fans. What do I mean by this? What I mean is that when, for example, the next series of Big Brother begins, within about a week viewers will be Googling their favourite person from the house in order to find information, pictures, videos, fan sites and other web content. These people are ready and willing customers for targeted advertising served up by Google Adsense.

Assuming you already have a grasp of Adsense, get busy creating a website or blog dedicated to a particular contestant (the younger, sexier females are your best bet) and write a little about them.

You don’t need to know that much about your contestant as there will be no getting away from reality TV in the media during the time in which the show(s) airs, so all the information you need will be available. It’s then a simple matter of reiterating the main attributes of any given contestant with a little content of your own added.

The clever part is this: the main meat of your site or blog will come from Youtube videos which feature the person you have chosen to focus on. All you need to do is embed these videos into your page, along with the written content, creating a one stop shop for the fans of your chosen contestant.

Insert Google Adsense next to, above and below your content and wait and see what ads are served by the Adsense content crawler technology. Within a few days a merchant could be selling calendars, books, CDs, DVDs or just about anything related to your choice of contestant, and when these ads are clicked by your readers, you collect revenue for providing the sales lead regardless of purchases made.

Diary room confessions, bush trials, dance offs, duets and other such reality melodrama is exactly what your target web traffic will be looking for, and fast. Get your domain registered quickly and try to include the full name of your reality personality. Make sure the meta tags and keywords are optimised to pull in the traffic as you really want to stand out. Most importantly, have the website or blog designed ready in advance of whatever TV show you focus on. This way, all you need to do is insert content, register your site name and upload everything rather than worrying about site design when you should have already gone live.

This method of monetising video content will only give you a passive income throughout the duration of the reality show and perhaps for a short time after that. It might be worth starting several sites or blogs to run simultaneously, all of which feature ads, attract traffic and convert your viewers into ad clicks.

Of course, you don’t have to use Adsense, but remember this: Google is the number 1 search engine with excellent keyword filtering and many merchants. Applied to its advertising program, the algorithm delivers pretty accurate advert matches and pays quite handsomely.

Just remember to pay attention to reality TV gossip and read the programme schedules…

Tips

  • Check Youtube regularly for uploaded video content. You can embed this into your site and blog.
  • Pay attention to the tabloids
  • Throw in some subjective content and opinions
  • Encourage interaction amongst the site visitors, with a forum or comments system.
